Trilobites are amongst the oldest fossils we carry, with many species dating from 550 million - 350 million years old. These are often a 3 dimensional trilobite found in a dark grey rock. These all have a cephalon (head), a thorax (body), and a pygidium (tail). The creature was protected by a hard calcite shell and this is what remains to this day. Trilobite species included in our collection are crotalus, dalmanites, elrathia kingii, flexicalymene, leonaspis, otarion, phacops, proetus, paralajurus, reedops, resserops, scutellum. In all there are several hundred different types of trilobites.
