Sea Urchin Fossil

Sea urchins are part of the large family of Echinoids. Echinoids are believed to have lived in our oceans for over 450 million years. They constantly evolve and are still among us as sea urchins, sand dollars, star fishes and sea cucumbers to name a few. From 66 to 1.8 million years ago, the sand dollar appeared as a new specie of Echinoids, newly evolved to roam the sand floors of shallow oceans with flatened tests (skeleton) and spines.

Large: 68 mm x 68 mm x 22 mm

Exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish this product, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
