Agate is a family of stones found around the world, and comes in hundreds of different varieties and colours. Dendritic Agate is rich in manganese or iron. When the manganese or iron reacts with water or oxygen, an effect similar to oxidation or rust occurs. Natural microscopic fissures within the agate creates a space where iron or manganese deposits can form, thus creating leaf-like or speckled patterns within the agate. Dendritic agate is an uncommon find, and an ideal choice for stone enthusiasts and collectors.
